Silent Journey & Discovery
A Montessori Experience
So you want to know more about the pink tower, the constructive triangles, the bead frame, or the checkerboard? We will be offering a unique and unforgettable experience – an opportunity for you to see our classrooms through a child’s eye and learn more about the Montessori approach to education.
On Friday evening March 13th, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at our main campus in Granite City, we will take a “Silent Journey” of observation through the primary and elementary environments that our children experience on a daily basis. On Saturday morning March 14th, we’ll return from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for “Discovery”, a hands-on learning experience with the Montessori materials in each environment. You will see what the child sees, experience what he/she experiences, and learn what (and how) he/she learns. You may even ask a Directress to give you a lesson with the Montessori materials! Our special guest presenter will be Barbara Gordon, founder of the St. Alcuin Montessori School in Dallas, Texas; founder and director emeritus of the Barbara Gordon Montessori School in Colleyville, Texas; and creator of the “Silent Journey & Discovery” experience for parents.
It is required that you attend both sessions in order to attain the full benefit.
